A man who sprayed bullets into a fitness class filled with women he didn't know, killing three and then himself, kept a Web page in which he wrote about years of rejection by women and left behind notes describing his inability to get a girlfriend, police said Wednesday. After reading the contents of his blog, I had to take a few moments to reflect on what society has become. I think the hardest pill to swallow is that it seems like the nutcases out there aren't content in just taking their own life but rather need to go down in a blaze of glory and get media attention. They just seem to crave notoriety. I just don't understand that. In my world there are two options and only two options... the first is success and if that doesn't work.. you try harder. Failure is not an option. Of course, I guess he had the same principals but wanted a different outcome.
I feel sorry for the families and friends of the victims for they have truly lost something... something they will never get back. As for the rest of the world, we have also lost something... innocence. Once again we have taken another step in the wrong direction. In keeping with recent tradition, the next guy will have to "one-up" George Sodini so he can carve his own name into history. I just pray that it doesn't directly affect my family, friends or myself.
Here's a thought... if there is anyone else out there that thinks they need to murder innocent people over not getting some for the last few years (or 19 ... whatever) just drop me an email and I'll send you the money so you can go and get a hooker or something. Life is too precious.
